Honda Motor Co. Ltd. is on a record-setting production pace in North America this year as the auto industry continues its recovery from the downturn of recent years, Bloomberg reports.
Honda (NYSE:HMC) could build 1.7 million new vehicles this year, a production number that would shatter its 2007 record of 1.43 million vehicles, Bloomberg reports. The company is recovering from natural disasters that created parts shortages and halted production last year.
The automaker's output has increased 75 percent this year, Bloomberg reports. Toyota also is on pace to break its 2007 record for auto output.
